When to Observe Jumadal Al-Aula Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Monday 13 November 2023) at 09:27 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Monday 13 November 2023) and (Tuesday 14 November 2023) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Wedensday 15 November 2023 and in the Western Region will be on Tuesday 14 November 2023. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Not Seen: ICOP member Mr. Mohammad Alhabib Janahani from قمار City in الوادي State mentioned that the sky was clear, the atmospheric condition was superb, the crescent was not seen by naked eye, the crescent was not sought by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging



Nigeria


1 . Time of observation: After sunset. Not Seen: ICOP member Mr. Simwal Jibril from Kaduna City in Kaduna State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was hazy, the crescent was not seen by naked eye, the crescent was not sought by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging

Mr. Mohammed AissaMoussa said: "عدد الراصدين: 07
ظروف الرصد كانت حسنة إلى حد كبير  سواء المناخية أو ميدان الرصد المطل على الأفق الحقيقي بنسبة كبيرة جدا 
"

Mr. Banouh Nouh Mefnoune said: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، اللهم صل و سلم على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله و صحبه، تمت رؤية هلال جمادى الأولى والحمد لله في الجهة التي دلّت عليها حسابات برنامج المواقيت الدقيقة، وتمت المشاهدة من جبل عبد الدايم ببني يزجن غرداية الجزائر مباشرة بالعين المجردة وبالقياسات اليدوية التقريبية دون الاستعانة بأي آلة (باستثناء النظارات الطبية بالنسبة لأحد الراصدين)، وتمت الرؤية بصعوبة نظرا للانخفاض الشديد للهلال رغم صفاء السماء و خلو الأفق الغربي من السحب، فكانت أول مشاهدة على الساعة ١٨:٠٧ بالتوقيت المحلي من الراصد السيد بوتوردين زهير بعينيه المجردتين بعد ٢٣ دقيقة من غروب الشمس التي غابت خلف الأفق ( وهذه المشاهدة حدثت ٤ دقائق بعد أحسن وقت للرصد المقدر على الساعة ١٨:٠٣)، وواصلنا رؤيته مع بعض لحوالي ١٠ دقائق وكان الهلال أبيضا مصفرا ذا لمعان خافت جدا شوهد في البداية في الحزام الأصفر المنير الذي يدنو السماء الزرقاء الفاتحة ثم ازداد لمعانه نسبيا واصفرّ مع دخوله في الحزام الأصفر البرتقالي ، وكان حوالي الساعة ١٨:١٠ مرتفعا أقل من أصبع واحد عن الأفق (مع مدّ الذراع) و سمته مبتعدا عن موقع غروب الشمس عن يسارها أقل من عرض اليد مضمومة الأصابع (مع مدّ الذراع)، مشيرا بقرنيه إلى عقارب الساعة ٢ والساعة ٥، وكانت آخر مشاهدة له على الساعة ١٨:١٦ وهو داخل في الحزام البرتقالي وكانت رؤيته متقطعة مع استمرار انخفاضه ودخوله الحزام الجوي الكثيف. والسلام عليكم.
أجدد ندائي لهواة رصد الأهلة بالعين المجردة من بلدان غرب ليبيا تونس الجزائر والمغرب: 
 رجاء أن يضيفوا في تقاريرهم ٣ معلومات: 
١- هل استعانوا ببرنامج لتحديد موقع الهلال أم لا؟ و ما هو؟
٢- كم دقيقة بعد غروب الشمس الظاهري تمت أول رؤية للهلال بالعين المجردة؟ 
(نود فتح المجال لمسابقة جهوية بيننا مع مراعات اختلاف المطالع طبعا) 
٣- في حال تمت الرؤية بالعين المجردة و بالآلة نرجو فقط التحديد: هل الرؤية بالعين المجردة تمت دون آلة أو أي نظارات أو بعد الاستعانة بالآلة؟

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The new crescent of Jumadal Ula 1445 AH was not sighted on Tuesday, Nopember 14, 2023 from Assalaam Observatory at The Assalaam Islamic Modern Boarding School, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The sky was very hazy."

Date: Tuesday, 11/14/2023
Location: Damzad foothills in the East of Shahreza (latitude: 32 00 N, longitude: 51 52 E, elevation: 1825m from sea level, time zone: +3.5 GMT)
Equipments: One set of 15*70 binoculars, One compass.
Atmospheric condition: Hazy  
Horizon obstacles: about 2°
Apparent Sunset: 16:58
Apparent Moonset: --:--
Results: Moon crescent was seen by 15*70 binoculars by Hossein Janghorbani at 17:16 and 17:17 and 17:18 , for the first time.

Mr. Abdulrahman  Albastaki  1441 said: "لم أتمكن من رؤية الهلال ، رغم عمرُه  البالغ يوم واحد و 4 ساعات و مكثهُ 39 دقيقة  ، نظراً للأحوال الجوية. و الحمدلله رب العالمين."

Dr. Belal Alshammaa said: "كانت السماء صافية نسبياً إلا في مكان وجود الهلال في الأفق، فقد كان يوجد سحابة صغيرة عاقت الرؤية بشكل واضح. فلم أتمكن من رؤية هلال شهر جمادى الأولى مباشرة من خلال المرقب؛ لكن تم إلتقاط بعض الصور قبيل الغروب (الصورة الأولى) وبعده بدقائق (الصور الثلاثة التالية)، ثم معالجتها بالفوتوشوب"

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The old crescent of Rabiul Akhir 1445 AH was sighted on Sunday, Nopember 12, 2023 from Assalaam Observatory at The Assalaam Islamic Modern Boarding School, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia. The east horizon was hazy and the moon was not seen by naked eye."
