Scientific Committee

* Objectives of the committee:-

• Assessing the crescent observations to determine their validity.
• Revising and improve the crescent visibility criteria on the basis of new developments related to crescent observations and studies.
• Supervising scientific discussions and following up on the new scientific studies concerning crescents, calendars, times and Qibla along with all that serves the Project objectives.
• Extending scientific advice to all Project staff.
• Assuming scientific responsibility for items published on the Project website.
• Performing scientific censorship of items published in the Project’s name within the different congregations.
• Providing scientific supervision of conferences.
• Preparing the annual report on the “State of the Islamic Umma (i.e. Nation) Astronomically”.
