ICOP Mailing List

ICOP mailing list is used to send reminders to the members to observe the lunar crescent every month and to distribute important observations or news related to the crescent or the Hijric calendar. The guidelines below have been designed to ensure that the use of the mailing list is beneficial for all:-

Rule 1: There must not be any use of inappropriate/harsh language. Especially about countries and persons in charge.

Rule 2: No backbiting or derogatory comments should be made about anyone. If you have a problem with someone please don't bring it on to ICOP mailing list.

Rule 3: Any post deemed to be offensive will not be approved to pass to the mailing list.

Rule 4: Maintain a level of mutual respect and manners with other mailing list members.

Rule 5: Only details of ICOP related events should be posted on the mailing list. Members should refrain from posting details of non-ICOP related events.

Rule 6: Personal emails are not allowed to be sent through the list. If there is an email which concerns one ICOP member only, then this email should be sent directly to the member, even if he is the moderator.

Rule 7: ICOP mailing list is not created for long and detailed discussions for a specific issue. For this purpose, we rather recommend to use ICOP forum found at: (http://www.icoproject.org/forum ) instead of using the mailing list. It is enough the highlight the issue in the mailing list and to show the views and opinions, and then detailed discussions can be continued in the forum.

Rule 8: Please do not submit your observation result to the mailing list, instead please use the special observation report found at: ( http://www.icoproject.org/icoprep.html ) or ( http://www.icoproject.org/icoprepm.html ).
