Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "Using a pair of binoculars (7X50), I searched for the moon during the day; it did not take too long that at around 2:20 pm EDT, I sighted the crescent in the clearings passing overhead. Thin clouds followed by heavy clouds hampered further observations then. From the thickness of the crescent and ease of detection, perhaps earlier sighting and even naked eye sighting were possible. At 2:15 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 77.4 F, 60.8 F, 57%, and 29.90 in, respectively.

Overcast condition persisted till sunset. I arrived at my sighting location around sunset (sunset: 8:39 pm); breaks started to appear in the clouds, creating a mostly clear western horizon. I waited so long for the moon to appear. The horns were at 1:30 and 6:30 O'clock (1:30;4:00;6:30). I ended the session at 9:25 pm (moonset: 10:12 pm). At 8:55 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 71.6 F, 58.8 F, 64%, and 29.84 in, respectively."

After 2 hours of waiting a large clear spot appeared in the right place and i could easily capture the wide crescent with the imaging system with lots of detail around 11:30 local time. I could even see it visually with the telescope at 30x through a red filter, as the imaging system had nailed the precise location.

Sadly the weather forecast for the next days looks bad."
