Results of Observation
So far, the earliest sighting of the crescent was on Wednesday 30 July 2003 from Iran by ICOP member Mr. Mohammad Hosein Almasi.
Tuesday 29 July 2003:

- ICOP member Mr. Usman Duhhu: Not seen. "It was raining, so we did not try sighting the crecsent here in Bauch."
Wednesday 30 July 2003:
- Iran
- ICOP member Mr. Mohammad Hosein Almasi: Seen.
- Algeria
- ICOP member Mr. Bankih Kacem: Seen. "The Jumada II 1424 cresent was observed easly with naked-eyes and binoculars.05 members of Amnir club was present in Merkich station."
- South Africa
- ICOP member Mr. Abdurrazak Ebrahim: Seen. "Dark clouds on the horizon up to altitude 4 degrees. Field of vision clear. The Hilaal was sighted 18 minutes after sunset. The planet Uranus became visible (to the left and above the visible crescent) to the naked eye at 18h30 (25 minutes after sunset)."

- ICOP member Ms. Mary Singer: Seen. "Tonight I sighted the new lunar crescent with 10x50 binoculars at
20:22 Pacific Daylight Time from Spokane, Washington, USA. (8:22PM local
time).
Local sunset had not quite occurred.
Crescent was approx. 40+ degrees above the horizon.
Horns pointing away from the sun at approx. 7:15 and 13:15.
Was able to have naked eye sighting at 20:30
*This was one of the "shorter" appearing crescents I have seen. Although I
could see the horns, they were noticeably fainter/dimmer in appearance than
the main arc of the crescent itself."
