When to Observe ?
The geocentric new Moon will occur on Monday 31 July 2000, at 02:25 UT. On this day (31 July), the program Moon Calculator by Dr. Monzur Ahmed -according to Yallop criterion- showed that the crescent is expected to be seen by telescopes starting from the middle of the African continent, while it should be seen by naked eyes from the American continents. Other countries should be able to observe the crescent on the next day (01 August). Consequently, arrange to observe the crescent after the sunset of 31 July or 01 August.
